From A Stand-Alone Blog Or Your Own Website

It is pretty well accepted these days that everyone who runs an online business should blog. It is a great way to promote what you are doing and it is also good for SEO. But setting up a blog, even on a free blogging site, isn’t always easy. Choosing the right site, whether to use Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, or your own website, isn’t an easy decision and getting it wrong could have serious consequences.

You may think you have nothing to say, but you do. You may think no one will be interested, but they will. And, just as important, search engines love blogs. It means new, relevant, content on your website or on a site that links to your website. These are all good things!

Tammy sells teen star pinups online. She sells on Main Street Mall Online and eBay and has her own website. But she also uses her own blog site to effectively drive traffic to her multiple selling sites. You can see her blog here: http://ztams.msmalls.com/. The blog site she uses is provided free as an additional bonus with her Main Street Mall Online store package.

Nancy is another multi-venue seller, also Main Street Mall Online, eBay, and her own website, who uses a stand-alone blog site to drive traffic to her selling venues. She sells vintage knitting and crochet patterns that are available in printed format or by digital download. You can see her blog site here: http://vintagehomearts.msmalls.com/. Nancy’s blog site is also a free bonus provided as an addition to her Main Street Mall Online store package.

Sometimes you want more capability, and flexibility, than the traditional free blog or journal sites offer. Sometimes you need more support than you can get from a free site where you are pretty much on your own. The solution may be a suitable paid site. You can accomplish this in one of two ways; get your own hosting and set up a copy of WordPress (it’s free!) and do it all yourself or have a look at the offerings on these three sites:

MSMOsites — more elaborate sites like ours.

Amazon Affiliate Websites — affordable blog with an affiliate bonus.

Wizard’s Place — Steve will work out something for you no matter what your budget.
